Squeeze Wheatgrass from Warrenpoint has been chosen, for the second year, as one of a select number of Northern Ireland companies to take part a pioneering initiative to market-test their product range – thanks to Tesco.
Over the next 12 months the select group will be offered free exhibition space in Tesco stores across the province to promote their brands and products.
The local sampling initiative is part of the ongoing Tesco Taste Northern Ireland campaign aimed at supporting Northern Ireland food and its producers.
Jacquelyn Stewart from Squeeze Wheatgrass welcomed the opportunity to showcase their products to local shoppers again in 2016.
“This is an invaluable marketing opportunity for our company especially with this year being NI Year of Food and Drink and we are delighted to have been given the opportunity by Tesco again this year. We have received very positive feedback on our products, particularly our new Wheatgrass and Juice shots.
To find out which Tesco stores we will be visiting, keep an eye on our social media pages.”
Caoimhe Mannion, Marketing Manager for Tesco NI, said: “The local sampling showcases are a great way for our customers to engage with producers and try some of their products.
“They are also a great opportunity for local ambitious local companies to increase awareness and sales.”
Tesco is the largest single buyer of local Northern Ireland produce, spending more than £550million in the province annually. It has more than 90 local suppliers and it stocks more than 1,200 local products.
